Part 3, piles of scrap metal, including an obsolete Japanese submarine and the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (Washington State), are collected for steel mills. Part 4, Wendell Willkie visits Gen. Chiang Kai-shek, Gens. Chennault and Stilwell, and the "Flying Tigers;" reviews Chinese troops; and tours the front in China. He speaks after return to the U.S. Part 5, an allied convoy is attacked by German submarines and torpedo planes; rescued merchant seamen speak.
